Today I turned the final pages on a book written by my friend, Kent Whitaker. It is written with the tenderness of a father, the poignancy of a victim of a violent crime, and the authentic passion of a believer. Kent allows us into the journey of his own heart with clear honesty. His voice is exquisitely vulnerable and resonates deep in the soul. He has walked the way of Job and tasted the bitter drink of betrayal from a son he loves. As time has passed, healing has come. Healing and Hope. There is a message for us all within the pages of this book.
Please go out and purchase this book. You will benefit many charities as Kent is not taking a dime for this work. You will benefit spiritually as you watch forgiveness in action. You will witness a display of HIS splendor through the heartbreak of a brother in Christ.
Both Kent and Bart are my friends and it is an honor. Holding Out Hope's ministry to inmates on death row is a DIRECT result of my friendship with Bart. The first article he wrote for us was on grace. He knows grace in ways that few of us can comprehend.
This story will move you into action... to forgive and to be the living hands and feet of Jesus.
Grace, grace. God's grace.
Grace that can pardon and cleanse within.
Grace, grace. God's grace.
Grace that is greater than all our sin.
